Is IFC produce USDA-certified organic?

Our produce is “beyond organic” in several ways.  We utilize hydroponic growing technology that allows us to reduce water and fertilizer consumption by up to 98%.  Our plants grow in sustainably-sourced and compostable coconut coir rather than peat-based soil.  We also grow in indoor facilities and greenhouses, which helps us avoid the need for dangerous pesticides.  Furthermore, our farms produce only for local customers, which minimizes the carbon footprint associated with food distribution.  So although we do carry the USDA organic certification, you can trust that your IFC was sustainably and responsibly grown.

What technology does IFC use to grow its fruits and vegetables?

The strength of IFC is its diverse farm members and their wide-ranging fruit and vegetable product offerings.  For members interested in initiating an indoor agricultural operation, we offer a complete indoor farm Grow Pak that includes a modular, energy-efficient grow structure outfitted with a vertical rack hydroponic system.  Learn more about our Grow Pak here.  We also welcome farm members with traditional field and greenhouse-based operations.  IFC’s mission is to grow and distribute food locally, and the grow technologies simply support production by the most environmentally- and economically-efficient means possible.
